"It’s incredibly fast-paced. The love in this family is amazing, and I really appreciate how vulnerable the author is in sharing their story with all of us.”

Rachel, Professional Beta Reader

"It was an honor and a pleasure to read this book and it gave me incredible insight to parents’ lives in the NICU that will help me as a nurse. I loved it. A page turner, truly…”

Michaela, NICU Nurse

“I really love this story. It’s hard reading it because it throws me right back to a lot of the trauma of my NICU stays, but I think this memoir is incredibly valuable precisely because of that.”

Maria, NICU Mom

About Week 26:

When Jenny and Joe Bernardo find out that they’re expecting twins, they think they’ve gotten the surprise of a lifetime—that is, until Jenny is rushed to the hospital at only twenty-six weeks pregnant and unexpectedly has to give birth fourteen weeks early.

In the months that follow, the twins fight for their lives in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit while Jenny and Joe balance work, daily visits to the hospital, and time at home with their five-year old daughter. Despite the strain they experience during this journey through a turbulent and terrifying landscape, Jenny and Joe find strength they never knew they had, all the while believing that they will one day bring home two healthy babies to their older sister.

Under circumstances that could fracture even the most resilient parents, they prove that anything is possible through perseverance and faith in this story of hope, the strength of the human spirit, and one remarkable family’s tenacity in the face of nearly impossible odds.

“Suddenly, I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. I couldn’t focus on anything besides the certainty that my body was shutting down and the fate of our survival was in someone else’s hands.”
